PHYSIOQ: AN INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE OF RESEARCH

WHAT WE FACED

Over the years we’ve seen large improvements in health technology, from Wifi-enabled blood pressure monitors, to portable blood tests, to Bluetooth-connected Heart Rate monitors; these previously expensive and immovable medical tools have been made portable and consumer-friendly. Unfortunately, with most companies focused on the lucrative healthcare markets, it seems the very people who drive new discoveries - the medical researchers - have been left behind.

Being familiar with medical research, specifically the collection of physiological data, our team knows how difficult it is to conduct studies that require traditional lab testing. Whether it’s the outrageously expensive devices that labs simply can't afford, the crazy amount of time researchers spend scheduling and meeting with study participants, or even the lack of tools to help analyse data - physiological research is simply not accessible to everyone. We are on a mission to change that.

WHAT WE ARE DOING

Kiipo created PhysioQ, a US-based nonprofit, on a mission to make physiological research accessible to everyone by providing affordable research tools, making everything from data collection to analytics effortless. PhysioQ’s first product is software that makes collecting physiological data secure and possible from anywhere. It allows research participants to conveniently collect research-quality data from the comfort of their homes, and researchers to view and manage their participants’ data in real-time.

WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS

We see PhysioQ as a platform that allows anyone to be able to launch their own research project. Our vision is to make a tool so easy that anybody without any prior research experience can pick it up and immediately start running their own projects. We believe that lowering the threshold to perform research while fostering collaboration, is the way to a better future.
